What happens at a polling station?

What happens at a polling station? When you get your poll card it will tell you the address of your polling station. Look
out for a sign like this one. You can go in to vote at any point on Thursday 3 May from 7am – 10pm. Inside you will meet the polling station
staff: a presiding officer and one or two polling clerks. You’ll need to tell
them your name and address. They will give you a ballot paper and tell you how
to cast your vote but not who to vote for and direct you to the polling booth. After casting your vote you will need to
fold it in half and place it in the ballot box. For more information go to yourvotematters.co.uk
