Livestreamed Socialist Townhall Meeting Series: Socialism and the 2020 Elections #Socialism2020

One word is dominating the 2020 US
presidential elections: Socialism. Trump and his fascist allies declare
that America will never be a socialist country. The Democratic Party
establishment proclaims its desire to rid its own party of the scourge of
socialism. Meanwhile Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, and the
Democratic Socialists of America declare that it’s possible to realize socialism
within the framework of the right-wing, pro-war, and pro-capitalist Democratic
Party. The Socialist Equality Party is running in these elections to fight for
genuine socialism. At this election meeting, I’ll review the history of the
socialist movement, explained the connection between the growth of
interest in socialism and the growth of the class struggle, explain the
significance of the fact that socialism has reemerged in the United States,
the center of world capitalism, and explain how socialism can be fought for today. I
urge you to attend this election meeting, which will be held Monday February 24th
at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor at 7 o’clock p.m. We’ll be
streaming live to social media. To find out more information, sign up for our
election newsletter at socialism2020.org Thank you.

  1. I will be interested to hear what you believe socialism is, since most people today calling themselves socialist are just social democrats, liberal egalitarians, anarchists, and Idpol members. None of which is real socialism
