Korea’s political parties screening potential candidates ahead of general election

With just 40-days remaining until Koreans
head to the polls for the April 13th general election,… the nation’s political parties
speeding up their candidate screening processes. The ruling Saenuri Party, main opposition
Minjoo Party of Korea and the minor opposition People’s Party are all busy checking their
candidates’ credentials in the run-up to the election.
They hope to weed out the bottom group candidates to make room for some fresh faces for the
future. The election will take place as scheduled
on April 13th after lawmakers approved a new electoral map that better reflects recent
population changes in Korea.
