At King’s Election P1 – Game of Thrones Season 8 Ep 6 Finale – The Iron Throne

[FOOTSTEPS APPROACHING] Where’s Jon? -He is our prisoner.
SANSA: So is Lord Tyrion. They were both to be brought
to this gathering. We will decide what we do
with our prisoners. This is our city now. If you look outside the walls
of your city, you’ll find thousands
of Northmen who will explain to you
why harming Jon Snow is not in your interest. And you will find
thousands of Unsullied who believe that it is. Some of you may be
quick to forgive. The Ironborn are not. I swore to follow
Daenerys Targaryen. You swore to follow a tyrant. She freed us from a tyrant. Cersei is gone because of her, and Jon Snow put a knife
in her heart. Let the Unsullied give him
what he deserves. Say another word
about killing my brother and I’ll cut your throat. Friends, please. We’ve been cutting each other’s
throats long enough. Torgo Nudho.
Am I saying that properly? If it weren’t for you
and your men, we would’ve lost the war
with the dead. This country owes you
a debt it can never repay, but let us try. There is land in the Reach. Good land. The people that used to live
there are gone. Make it your own.
Start your own house with the Unsullied
as your bannermen. We’ve had enough war. Thousands of you,
thousands of them. You know how it ends. We need to find a better way. We do not need payment. We need justice. Jon Snow cannot go free. It’s not for you to decide. You are not here to speak! Everyone has heard enough words
from you. You’re right. And no one’s any better for it. But it’s not for you to decide. Jon committed his crime here. His fate
is for our king to decide. Or our queen. We don’t have a king or queen. You’re the most powerful people
in Westeros. Choose one. Make your choice, then. My lords and ladies… [CLEARS THROAT] I suppose this is the most
important moment of our lives. What we decide today
will reverberate through the annals of history. I stand before you as one of the senior lords
in the country. A veteran of two wars. And I like to think
my experience has led to some small skill
in statecraft -and underst–
SANSA: Uncle? Please sit. [SCOFFS] [CLEARS THROAT SOFTLY] [STUMBLES] [SIGHS] Well, we have to choose someone. Um, ahem… Why just us? Um– We represent
all the great houses, but whomever we choose, they won’t just rule over
lords and ladies. Maybe the decision about
what’s best for everyone should be left to… well, everyone. [ALL LAUGHING] Maybe we should give the dogs
a vote as well. I’ll ask my horse. I suppose you want the crown. Me? The Imp?

About the author

  1. Mmm. Everybody got something, just John Snow. He lost his kingship, his queen girl, his home, etc. The rest are all better off. Dont change the story, though what happened pains me. But it is all part of game of thrones

  2. Idk the whole thing with Sam suggesting democracy and getting laughed at and made fun of by literally everyone really killed this scene for me. How out of place and unusual. Even Sansa is smirking. I always thought that could be a good possible ending for Westeros.

  3. If you think about it, the Starks have the greatest influence now in Westeros: the Starks are related to the Tullys, same with the Arryns; they also have a power in the Stormlands through Gendry Baratheon.

Ned Stark’s death really paved the way to the rise of his children.

PS: I’m still rooting for Daenerys!!

  4. It's like watching American Idol Season 5. You have Kat McPhee, Elliot Yamin, Paris Bennett, Chris Daughtry and then AI ends up crowning Taylor Hicks.

  5. Wow now grey worm and the unsollite r the outsider doesn't have a right to decide, Where are the rest of you when the dead come? If the unsollite and the doraky KILL John and Tyrion Who the fuc… can stop them. Shame they had fought for them they had died for them, Look at how Sansa reacts she already brings the ladder from Winterfell ready to climb. In the end, Heroes had to die and leave the cake for the animals to fight for their pieces.

  6. 2:06 That line is so cringy but trying to be so cool. In the books, Asha would have killed Arya before her next breath. Because in the books Arya isn't a Skyrim character after maxing out all my skills.

  7. OK Time for my bitch….this is the scene that helped cause the whole SEASON to fit into 6 episodes. Kudos to the Actors especially Dinklage but as for the writing …..Look at Sansa Stark….essentially CONTROLLING the meeting. And what she says right off the bat….WHERE'S JON? No one else even SAYS anything (again insanely rushed). The 3 Starks, their cousin and their Uncle, wait for it…..JON'S BEST FRIEND and HIS CLOSEST ADVISOR, Arya's LOVER and another good friend of Jon's, The Stark's Maester, Brienne, Yara….2 guys I don't know about and the new Doerne Prince (who seemed pretty noncommital) and only Sansa f***ing stands up to Grey Worm. Yara bitches, Arya threatens to cut her (would have been a great match….Arya would have won done what she did to Littlefinger) and again….nobody says S**t. I was waiting for Sansa (the one character acting on point) to snap at Yara that her brother Theon died for this family and would have been disgusted with her. Davos does a pretty decent job trying to negotiate saying that the Unsullied and Dothraki can never be repaid for their help and yet……Nobody even says anything about the person who ACTUALLY SAVED ALL HUMANITY from the Night King : Arya Stark. She's right there. Her only line is threatening Yara. AT this point it just stops making sense to me. Gendry is in love with her and he doesn't say anything? SAMWELL says nothing until he tries to bring Democracy to Westeros….cute…Maybe John Bradley was supposed to say a line about freeing Jon but he got thirsty and drank his bottled water and put it under his chair. Nope Grey Worm don't care. No explanation on how Tully got out of Frey's dungeon and here he is making speeches…..the only way he would have gotten out is if ARYA FREED HIM. The idea that Grey Worm just says "CHOOSE" just……..the scene should have been better played out…..I can even get behind an idea that "Well if Jon can't be King without a war then….we'll choose Bran"….at least we give this long suffering family SOMETHING. By going with Bran, his family and friends know that he will be fair Give Sansa the North, getting the Unsullied and Dothraki the hell out of Westeros , send Jon (under the guise of being a prisoner banished) to the North (where he can be with a people who LOVE HIM and owe him their lives). But none of this crap is clear——They needed at least 5 more minutes of exposition. Thank You for coming to my GOT TED TALK.

  8. 2:06 Yara: "Let the unsullied give him what he deserves."
Arya: "Say another word about killing my brother and I'll cut your throat"

Yara: "Bitch, who do you think you are?"
    Arya: "No One"

  9. I still don't understand how Greyworm being the most faithful person to Daenerys couldve just make them choose that easily. Like okay you killed my queen but it aight! Choose the next king and lets forget that his unsullied died for Daenerys. And how about the Dothraki? they were as faithful to Daenerys and they walk next to Jon like he didnt just killed their Khaleesi 🙄 It doesnt make sense that they let Jon go easily. I mean, Drogo knows he's a targeryen so its understandable that he didnt kill him, but the Dothraki and Unsullied? COMMON! Nothing makes sense.

  10. I think it's weird for a character like Davos too change sides from Stannis too Aegon Targeryan
He should be saying it had to be done on what she did etc if it wasn't him would of been someone else which it would of been what did the people of KL ever do too Danny nothing 80 percent of Westerosi Lord's would of agreed
The only 1s on her side were the ironborn and supposedly thousands of unsuilidd shite writing VALE men on it's own would outnumbered them 3 too 1 dothracki all died in the battle pretty much
Wjat army is there of Danny supporters is there
Tyrion would of went against them and supported Jon such bad writing

  11. Yara greyjoy: fuck the starks kill jon, he murdered our queen danaerys
Arya stark: bitch fuck you ill kill you
    Yara: no fuck you
Tyrion: lets make bran stark king
Yara greyjoy: aye sounds good to me

tyrion proceeds to give a generous speech and walk around and dictate how the future of westeros politics works even though he has no power, influence or friends in the audience

Grey worm: jon snow must pay for his crimes 💀
“Let him join the nightwatch which u never heard about before, which makes no sense anymore, which u cant hold us to actually making him do because youre leaving.”

Greyworm: ok cool i can go then

  12. Hey you guys here's a little song to cheer you all up!!!
🎶We're on easy street and it feels so sweat. Because the world is but a treat when your on easy street.🎶

  13. Sansa's reaction to greyworm, 'girl he was the foot soldier fighting in war where u were hiding in the crypt doing nothing and though ur sister killed NK he and many of his mates kept the distruction to minimum' and all of u sitting here apart from your sister owes them , so please be little warm and show gratitude.
If there are thousands of northman accepting what jon did was right why this bicth is not uttering one word about Jon's parentage .

  14. I wonder who the new Dornish prince is in this scene. A secret surviving Martell or just another Dornish noble from another house who simply assumed the principality after Ellaria and the Sand Snakes are gone?

  15. Yara is a strong character, she was standing for Daenerys, and they just wanted to make her weak in this scene just to make the Starks look strong. Such pathetic writing.

  16. 2:13 to 2:16 = Anyone else other than me notice how after Arya threatens Yara for her hateful comment about Jon, Arya's gaze towards Yara remains cold & focused whereas Yara looks visibly shaken & worried as she looks back at her 😉

  17. I understand Sansa always wanted North to be independent, but this is foolish. The North wasn't taken from them, the King willingly kneeled before Aegon to avoid defeat and bloodshed which he knew was sure to come.
But anyway, North's independence and Bran granting should've spurred others on to demand the same. ESPECIALLY Dorne. They didn't even bend the knee to Aegon FFS! And have been wanting independence ever since!
    This is just stupid.

  18. Shame! Shame! Shame! Hey at least they took the time to make that edmure Tully joke. Made all that rushing totally WORTH IT!

  19. I just realized after rewatching this scene that the reason Tyrion was brought to this meeting was because it was a meeting for all the remaining Lords and Ladies of Westeros, and Tyrion is the last Lannister. The Lannister’s are still, on paper at least and as far as the people know, still the lords of Casterly Rock and Warden’s of the West.

  20. No surprises. “Why do you think I came?”
Bran was there because he had planned to become King.
Just as Dany planned to be Queen.
The one who should be king is Jon, with Tyrion as his advisor/hand.

Basically here, Bran gets what he wants and Sansa gets what she schemed for.
And they banish Jon because both know that he is the actual one who would unite all the kingdoms.

Sansa wanted to be a Queen since day one.
Bran stayed away from the rest because he says he is the three eyed raven, but remember he made Hodor a simpleton and then his servant – an echo of what he probably did to get the throne.
Jon would have kept his real name quiet if it had just been Sam, but as Bran said it he put Jon in the position of “you tell them or I will”
Knowing it fed Jon to the wolves really.

In the end though, Jon gets to leave behind all their power games and politics and live with the free people in the north. A situation most comfortable to him.

Dany only ever loved Khal Drogo.
And was the mad queen, proving it all the way through.
(What she did to Sam’s father & brother, echoes what her father did to Jon’s grandfather)
In the end the story results in tragedy.
Only the hidden scheming villains win, Afterall Sansa knew Littlefinger was a traitor and killer, she saw him kill her aunt. She waited until she found her sister wasn’t a threat to her getting the North to herself – that’s why she looks so smug at the end.
Tyrion knows he’s going to suffer as hand of the King, that’s why he tells Jon he’ll go and find him after a while – he also knows Jon is the real King among all of the others.

  21. Everyone's got a little dragon hits then suddenly they here

The bombinomicon: Hey it's me the bombinomicon!!! Now fight to the death!!!!

Every character of the Dragon pit reaction:😕?

  22. The most useless person in the seven kingdoms is now the king.
